Having decided on the design, we go on to plan the most suitable type of Setting for creating the Mounting, based on the preferences or taste requirements of the customer.
Mounting
This is where the choice and composition of the Mounting takes place: it may be in 18ct gold, in all its range of colours such as White, 3N Yellow, 5N Pink or 6N Red, or in Platinum or Sterling Silver.

work out the nature of the whole piece of jewellery
One advantage that our Atelier can boast is that it offers clients the possibility to choose between 4 styles of Setting, which may be applied to each cut of stone, such as Marquise, Drop, Radiant, Round etc.
Each style has very different technical and structural features.

The subsequent phases involve trying it on the mannequin to determine the size and to get an initial idea of what it will eventually look like, followed by designing the decorative effects. When all the steps have been approved, the Mounting can be welded and jointed where necessary.
All of these operations are carried out by hand since a machine would not be capable of imparting that unique aesthetic quality that an expert craftsman can achieve; the decorations are placed in strategic places to create attractive joining mechanisms.

Crafting
Every design is hand-made: the first rough sketch is made in pencil, with volume being added later through chiaroscuro, while the colours of the chosen gems are recreated not only as a guideline for creating the jewellery but as a proper aesthetic study to make all the parts of the object appear real.
All the “prêt-à-porter” collections are made of silver, since it is considered a more economical metal with a more youthful impact.
The Haut Couture collections, on the other hand, designed to be unique pieces and often used only for specific exclusive events, are created entirely in 18ct. gold.
